Snohomish County PUD No 1 offers financial incentives for residential customers to increase the energy efficiency of homes. The appliance rebate program provides rebates for the purchase of energy efficient clothes washers. There is also an appliance recycling program that offers $30 for each refrigerator or freezer recycled. To have a refrigerator or freezer picked up and recycled, it must be in working condition, between 10 to 32 cubic feet in size.
To help customers remodeling or building a new home reduce lighting energy use, Snohomish County PUD No 1 offers a discount of $20 on a variety of CFL fixtures at participating local retailers. A list of retailers participating in this program can be found on the program web site. Snohomish PUD customers are also eligible for a free home energy saving kit.
In addition, Snohomish County PUD No 1 has a weatherization and heating conservation program for residential customers who have electrically heated homes. This program offers cash incentives for the installation of energy efficient insulation, windows, heat pumps and installation costs. Specific rebate amounts can be found on the program web site. The Multi-Family Conservation Program also offers incentives for installing various energy efficiency measures in multi-family residential buildings. They also offer a low interest loan for residential customers interested in making the above mentioned weatherization and heating improvements.
