Idaho Power offers a variety of incentives for the installation of energy efficient appliances and heating and cooling systems for their residential customers living in both Oregon and Idaho. The Home Products Program offers rebates ranging from $20-$50 for the purchase of Energy Star qualified freezers, refrigerators, and clothes washers. Additionally, a $30 rebate is available for the proper recycling of older, working refrigerator units.
The Heating and Cooling Program offers incentives for residential customers who purchase and have installed qualifying air source heat pumps, open loop water source heat pumps and evaporative coolers that meet program requirements. In order to qualify for the incentive customers must use a participating company for heat pump installations and comply with all program requirements. This program focuses on ensuring proper heat pump equipment sizing and quality installation.
Single family existing homes may qualify for Idaho Power's Home Improvement Program, which offers a cash incentive of $0.15 per-square-foot for the professional installation of attic insulation. The rebate will be paid on added insulation up to R-50, and it must increase the R-Value by R-10 or greater. Homes must use central AC or be heated electrically to qualify.
Additionally, Idaho builders may receive $1000 as an incentive for building ENERGY STAR homes plus $500 for Parade of Homes Marketing.
