Oregon Trail Electric Cooperative (OTEC) assists residential members in reducing electric consumption by providing rebates for energy efficient equipment. Rebates are for appliances, heat pumps, water heaters and Energy Star manufactured homes. The appliance rebate program offers rebates on Energy Star clothes washers, refrigerators, and freezers. The appliance rebates range from $15 - $70 and are given in the form of a credit on the customer's’ bill. OTEC also offers customers a $100 credit to the electric bill for installing a new energy efficient electric water heater with between 50 and 99 gallon capacity and 0.92 - 0.94 or greater efficiency rating (minimum efficiency rating depends on size of water heater).

Rebates are also provided for heat pumps: air-source heat pumps are eligible for $500 rebates; geothermal heat pumps can garner up to $1,000 rebates; finally, mini-split ductless heat pumps are incentivized from $500 to $1,500. The ENERGY STAR® Manufactured Home Program offers a $1,150 rebate towards manufactured homes that are constructed to the National Energy Efficiency Manufactured (NEEM) home standards. Weatherization measures for single, multi-family, and manufactured homes are eligible to receive rebates of up to $400.
