Energy Trust of Oregon offers rebates for Energy Star refrigerators, freezers and clothes washers to Oregon residential electric service customers of Portland General Electric (PGE) and Pacific Power and to Oregon residential natural gas service customers of NW Natural and Cascade Natural Gas.

Refrigerators and freezers must be installed in homes within the PGE or Pacific Power service territory to qualify.  All Energy Star freezers qualify for the $35 rebate.  Only Energy Star refrigerators that are 30% more efficient than federal standards qualify.  Energy Trust also offers a refrigerator/freezer recycling program that takes away old appliances for free and offers a rebate of $40 for the service. The refrigerator or freezer must be between 10 and 30 cubic feet and in working condition to qualify for this service and rebate.

Clothes washers installed in homes with an electric water heater must be within the PGE or Pacific Power service territory. Clothes washers installed in homes with a gas water heater must subscribe to NW Natural or Cascade Natural Gas service to qualify. A rebate of $50-$70 is available for clothes washers. Clothes washers must be Energy Star with a modified energy factor (MEF) of 2.4 or higher to qualify.
