Duke Energy offers Ohio residential customers Smart Saver incentives for the purchase and installation of furnaces, geothermal heat pumps, air source heat pumps, and air conditioning units in new and existing homes. For individual installations, rebates are $200 for retrofits and $300 for new construction. If customers install a furnace combined with an eligible heat pump or AC unit, the rebates are increased to $400 and $600, respectively. Duke Energy gas customers must also receive electric service from Duke Energy to be eligible for Smart Saver incentives. Participating heating dealers or builders (available on web site) will complete and submit incentive applications and be familiar with all other program requirements, and for new homes, rebates are paid to the builder unless the builder agrees that the customer will receive the rebate.
