Unitil (Gas): Residential Energy Efficiency Program

Unitil offers its New Hampshire residential customers a number of programs to encourage more energy efficient homes. The Home Performance with Energy Star Program is available to customers with higher than average energy bills.  The program includes a home energy audit which identifies potential areas for energy efficiency improvement.  Qualifying improvements can result in a 50 percent utility rebate for the customer, up to $4,000.  Common energy savings improvements utilized by the program include:

• Attic and building insulation
• Hot Water Pipe and Tank Insulation
• Air sealing and weather stripping materials
• Water saving devices
• Energy Star CFLs and light fixtures
• Installing Renewable Energy Systems

In addition to its comprehensive Home Performance program, Unitil offers its customers a variety of individual rebates for HVAC and water heater improvements.   Unitil also offers a special Home Energy Assistance Program for income-qualified households that provides up to $5,000 in energy efficiency and weatherization upgrades.  For specific details and qualifications please visit the website listed above.
