Black Hills Power: Residential Customer Rebate Program

The Black Hills Power (BHP) Customer Rebate Program offers cash rebates to residential customers for the purchase of electric water heaters, electric heat pumps, and geothermal heating and cooling systems. Water heaters must have a minimum capacity of 30 gallons and a maximum 4.5 kW electric heating element to qualify for the $1-$2/tank gallon (depending on efficiency rating) rebate. Customers who install a new Demand Controller with a new water heater may qualify for an additional $100 rebate. The geothermal heat pump rebate is available for single family and multi-family apartment structures, whereas the electric heat pump rebates are for single family dwellings only. Also included in the Customer Rebate Program is a free energy savings analysis that compares heating and cooling systems to be installed in homes.
