Columbia Water & Light: Commercial Super Saver Loans

Columbia Water & Light (CWL) provides Commercial Super Saver Loans, which allow C&I rate customers to replace a furnace along with a new central air conditioner or heat pump with an efficiency rating 11 EER or greater for units 6 tons or larger. No prepayment penalties are enforced through the program. All requirements concerning minimum insulation levels, credit history, DEED of Trust, and ASHRAE Level II energy assessments must be met. First, participants should finance an ASHRAE Level II energy assessment, then wait for CWL approval to proceed with a project. After a post-assessment and final inspection, participants will receive the check for the loan. Customers are also eligible for lighting and HVAC rebates.

Loans for a new lighting system must be for a project saving at least one kilowatt from the old lighting system. Duct Sealing can be financed in order to achieve the lowest leakage rate possible. Solar Water Heaters need to provide at least 50% of water heating costs in order to be eligible. Only solar space heating systems that involve active solar heat collectors are eligible for loans. All solar heating projects must be permitted by the Public Works Department and have a completed final inspection. Pool solar water heaters are not eligible.

Super Saver Loans do not subordinate to other loans you have on your property. If you refinance your current business loan or sell your building, you will be required to pay off the Super Saver Loan. Requesting subordination of your Super Saver Loan generally takes at least two months. Contact CWL with any questions about subordination.
