Waverly Light and Power (WL&P) offers rebates for solar hot water heating systems to its residential customers. All purchases must be pre-approved through WL&P's solar water heater application process. In addition, residential customers must obtain a county-issued permit prior to installing a solar water heating system. There is a limit of one rebate per address. Funding is available until the rebate fund is exhausted.

Rebate Application Procedure

1. Residents obtain a county-issued permit for a solar water heating system and choose any licensed, bonded contractor in Bremer County to perform the installation.

2. Waverly Light and Power and Bremer County inspections performed as a safeguard.

3. Submit official WL&P Solar Hot Water Heater rebate application paperwork. Rebate amounts are determined by the size of individual solar panel system ($30 per square foot).

4. Rebate checks are issued within 14 business days on a first-come, first-served basis.
