Waverly Light and Power (WL&P) offers rebates for the purchase and installation of energy efficient HVAC systems and appliances to residential customers. Rebates are available for central AC units, heat pumps, LED lighting, clothes washers, refrigerators, and appliance recycling. Separate incentives are also available for energy efficient residential construction. All improvements must comply with the energy efficiency standards set by the utility. Space conditioning units must be properly sized and customers must submit the federal Energy Guide label with appliance rebate applications. Dormitory sized refrigerators of 6 cubic feet or less are not eligible for a rebate. Appliance rebates also require verification of disposal of the old appliance from the appliance dealer. Rebates are paid in Waverly Dollars, which can be used for shopping at local businesses.
