Interstate Power and Light (Alliant Energy) offers residential energy efficiency rebates and incentives for Iowa customers for a variety of technologies. Rebates are available for certain heating, cooling, lighting, appliances, doors and windows.  Landlords and renters of multi-family homes can also take advantage of various cash-back rewards for energy-efficient equipment in the residential and commercial programs.  Equipment must meet efficiency levels specified on the program website.

IPL also offers base rebates from $500 - $1,750, through their New Home Construction Program. The exact rebate level varies depending on the square footage of the home, and whether or not the home receives heating and/or cooling energy from Alliant Energy-IPL. Bonus rebates reward customers for installing premium-efficiency heating and cooling equipment, clothes washers, refrigerators and lighting.

The Appliance Awards and the Replacement Doors and Windows Programs offer rebates for energy efficient clothes washers, dishwashers, refrigerators, freezers, room air-conditioners, windows, and doors. All appliances must be Energy Star and meet certain efficiency requirements listed on the program website.

In addition to these rebates, IPL offers an Appliance Recycling Program, an Appliance Cycling Program and an Insulation Incentive. The Appliance Recycling Program will pay customers $35 for old, working refrigerators, freezers and room air conditioners, in addition to sending a recycling contractor to pick up the appliance. The Appliance Cycling Program offers residential customers bill credits for agreeing to have their air conditioners and water heaters cycled off during peak periods in the summer months. The Insulation Incentive is part of the Home Energy Audit process; residential customers may be eligible for a rebate of up to $750 for qualifying insulation.
