Lakeland Electric offers a conservation program for residential customers to save energy in homes. Rebates are available for Heat Pumps, HVAC tune-ups, attic insulation upgrades, and Energy Star refrigerators. Additionally, when a customer schedules a free energy audit, they are eligible to receive up to three free CFLs and an energy saving kit from the utility. The $50 HVAC checkup rebate is for residential customers that have completed a preseason heating and cooling system tune-up by a licensed HVAC contractor. A list of services that must be completed in order to qualify for the rebate are located on the program web site. Heat Pumps replacing older, inefficient AC systems must meet all efficiency standards listed above and on the program web site. In order to qualify for the $200 insulation upgrade rebate, customers must have existing attic insulation rate R-19 or less and must upgrade to achieve a level of R-30. Contact Lakeland Electric, or visit the program website, for more information on this program.
