The Community Office for Resource Efficiency (CORE), a nonprofit organization promoting renewable energy and energy efficiency in western Colorado, offers residential and commercial rebates within the Roaring Fork Valley for the installation of photovoltaic, solar hot water, and micro hydro systems. Solar energy systems must be installed or signed off by a COSEIA or NABCEP certified contractor. Solar water heating incentives are available for commercial systems only; residential systems do not qualify.
The program is sponsored by the Community Office for Resource Efficiency (CORE), in partnership with the City of Aspen and Holy Cross Energy, with funds from the Renewable Energy Mitigation Program. A loan program is also available for solar projects, but not in conjunction with this rebate program. Additionally, rebates will not be provided for systems already receiving a rebate from EcoBuild or Xcel Energy.
