Alameda Power & Telecom offers an incentive program to customers who install solar photovoltaic (PV) systems. Rebates will be provided to commercial and residential customers on a per-watt AC basis, which, in keeping with the terms of the California Solar Initiative, will decline over the life of the program according to a 10-year schedule. Each succeeding year has a lower incentive amount and a higher maximum aggregate capacity for installations. For 2012, the rebate level is $2.09 per watt for systems less than 50 kilowatts (kW). Systems 50 kW or larger built in 2012 can receive a production based incentive of $0.24 kWh of actual production during the first five years. Over the life of the program, Alameda Power & Telecom has a goal of 2,127 kW of new solar capacity. The full 10-year incentive declination schedule can be found on the web site above.
Additional restrictions and eligibility requirements apply. Commercial customers should contact the utility for more information about current incentive levels.
