Glendale Water and Power (GPW) offers the Smart Home Energy and Water Saving Rebate Program that includes several incentives for residential customers to improve the energy efficiency of participating homes. Rebates are offered for a variety of appliances that meet required minimum efficiency levels. See web site listed above for all equipment requirements. Rebate amounts vary according to efficiency, requirements, and location of purchase.
GWP will also help pay for an air conditioner tune-up by providing a free condenser coil cleaning ($45) and $65 towards a refrigerant charge or air flow correction if needed. More information is included here. GWP also provides a program which allows customers to recycle an old refrigerator for free, receive 6 free compact fluorescent light bulbs, and get a one-time $25.00 energy bill discount. For Low Income Residential customers there is a refrigerator replacement program, a medical equipment discount program, and other senior, disabled, and low income payment programs.
