EDGE Energy works with home and business owners consulting, testing, and designing “performance-based” efficiency solutions and renewable energy systems.

“Home Performance” Contracting is the newly defined term (by the EPA and DOE) describing an integrated company that can perform certified energy audits or ratings (BPI, HERS, LEED, etc) and implement a strategic scope of work which addresses common problems such as sealing leaky building envelopes, resolving health and safety risks, correcting building code violations, solving interior comfort issues, and/or simply lowering a homeowner’s energy bills.

EDGE Energy has a strong background in energy efficiency and has been performing certified energy audits, air-sealing, and insulation services since 2006.

In 2009, EDGE Energy began designing and installing renewable energy projects in MD, DC, and VA. As a newer Solar PV and Solar hot water installer, EDGE Energy remains competitive by offering transparent pricing, products from any manufacturer, paperwork assistance, and written 5-year warrantees on installed solar systems.

The company sets itself apart from the competition in a variety of ways. One key difference is that EDGE Energy employs its own specially-trained “weatherization” workforce - instead of using sub-contracted labor for its core services.  In addition, the local Project Managers are trained energy auditors and raters to BPI, HERS, and utility Home Performance Standards and quality control (QC) requirements.

The weatherization teams at EDGE Energy routinely receive high marks from online websites, state inspectors, and earn customer referrals from their professionalism, skill, and cleanliness on the jobsite. In addition, these crews are paid on a Davis-Bacon compliant payroll and the company works with numerous federal and state government-sponsored low-income weatherization programs receiving ARRA stimulus or EECBG block grant funds.
