Recycled Energy LLC
Providing Solutions to Energy Loss & Saving Home Owners Money
Contractor Details
Who We Are:
We are an independent energy auditing company, who seeks to provide information to home owners without selling additional products. We value this approach for two major reasons. First most home owners don’t want to pay for a service which leads them to sales pitch for additional products, because the audit information may be geared to getting them to bite on the sale. Second, some home owners are do-it-yourself type people who can easily do modifications to their home but need to know what should be done.
Our Mission:
Our goal is to reduce New Hampshire’s energy dependence, while providing home owners the ability to save money and improve their homes.
What We Do:
Conduct home energy evaluations, which will provide a detailed report to home owners on how they can conserve energy and save money with minor home improvements.
Why Do It:
Homes consume energy everyday all day long, whether or not they are being occupied. Most homes were built with little to no thought of energy consumption. Currently in New Hampshire we comply with the 2009 International Energy Conservation Codes (IECC) on new construction. However, the origin of the IECC started in 1998 and homes built before that had no energy code to meet. The majority of houses were built prior to any codes and can greatly benefit from with an energy audit. The audit will help home owners identify what can be done to improve their homes efficiency, saving them money every month on things like heating, cooling, electricity, and water.
We provide this service to home owners as an independent auditing company to give home owners the ability to make improvements or can provide a list of recommended contractors.
How We Do It:
We start with a through investigation of the home to figure out what kind of insulation exists and any problem areas that may unknowingly be costing the home owner money. Then we look at the heating systems and hot water tanks for efficiency and safety issues. Next we complete a blower door test in order to quantify the amount of wasted heat / cooling lost to the exterior of the house. Last we check appliances and lighting.
This data allows us to complete a detailed analysis of the home as a system and do calculations which will show home owners how much money can be saved by doing small home improvements and which ones provide the best results for saving energy and money.
