This service makes perfect sense, but only if it's accurate. A true complete energy audit utilizes a range of diagnostic tests to discover how your home is actually operating, and then, provides you with specific recommendations that you can act on. A simple walk around with a clipboard won’t do this for you, and neither will an energy rating.

Lots of companies are offering energy audits and assessments, but don't be fooled. These "audits" are usually nothing more than a sales call, especially if the "audit" service is free. Window companies want to sell windows, insulation companies want to sell insulation - so guess what they recommend? Buy their product, of course!
