Aaron is responsible for the overall strategy, leadership and growth of EnergySavvy. Under his management EnergySavvy has emerged as an industry leader in utility cloud software with a world-class team and investors.

Prior to EnergySavvy, Aaron was a Principal Group Program Manager at Microsoft, where he was a key leader on Windows XP, the Dot Net Framework, and Microsoft Cloud Services. Aaron is an inventor on ten patents, was recognized in Puget Sound Business Journal’s 40 under 40, has traveled to nearly 60 countries and loves to snowboard. He earned a MS and BS in mathematics from the University of Washington and Florida, respectively.

Adam discovered his passion for software development while earning his MS in mechanical engineering from the University of Washington with a focus in renewable energy. Formerly a mechanical engineer in the aerospace industry, Adam most recently was a full stack software developer at a web-based, user-oriented Seattle startup. In addition to coding, Adam is passionate about hiking the North Cascades with his family, classic literature, Brahms, and old manual focus camera lenses.

Between her career in science and her career in programming she also worked as a pastry chef and baker. After writing some code for a local cupcake shop, she was inspired to do it full time, which led her to Ada and ES. She enjoys tinkering with hardware and building things, making music, homebrewing, and glitter.

Previously, Dan developed undersea oil plume modeling software during the Deepwater Horizon oil spill, constructed mesh networking applications for emergency communications, and implemented animatronics control software for Hollywood films. David leads the client solutions team at EnergySavvy. He honed his enthusiasm for solving big problems through technology while working at NASA on the robotics systems for the International Space Station. At Pacific Gas and Electric (PG&E) he drove performance improvements in the electric operations business including spearheading the successful upgrade of the company’s operational data management platform. After observing the unmet potential of energy efficiency in solving long-term energy needs, he joined EnergySavvy to make energy efficiency more accessible for energy consumers and dependable for utility resource planners. David has an MBA from the University of Michigan and a BS in electrical engineering from the University of Texas.

Jamie is passionate about the positive impact energy efficiency programs can have on their local communities by empowering both homeowners and contractors. John brings deep expertise in large-scale data analysis and data-product development. In a past life, he contributed to the discovery of the Higgs boson as a particle physicist at CERN. More recently, he worked at EcoFactor developing algorithms for energy-efficient, cloud-based automation of connected thermostats. He received a BA in physics from Williams College and a PhD in physics from the University of Washington. From time to time, he indulges in armchair philosophy, cooking over an open fire, and getting lost in the wilderness.

Kalpana leads EnergySavvy’s engineering team and is responsible for all development initiatives. Kalpana brings over 15 years of software development experience and holds several patents. She is passionate about startups and delivering new, innovative software products to market. She was recently director of engineering and product management at Doyenz responsible for the CloudDR platform and partner relationships. Prior to Doyenz, she cofounded and led the product strategy and development efforts for SynerG, federated data visualization and operational intelligence platform for large-scale enterprises. Kalpana also spent eight years at Attachmate as an engineer, manager and Director of Product Development managing SOA and user organized enterprise product initiatives. Kalpana loves to travel around the world and cares deeply about the welfare of animals. Kalpana holds an MS in computer science from the University of Texas.

When not coding, he enjoys typical Northwest activities such as comparing Seattle microbrews to Belgian beers, going on backcountry hikes or bicycling around the city.

Melitta is a program manager for Optix Quantify, helping the team turn ideas into products. Before joining EnergySavvy, Melitta spent seven years in program management at Microsoft, working on Bing and the .NET Framework. She studied computer science at Carnegie Mellon University, knowledge she uses these days to hold her own in conversations with software engineers. Melitta used to work to support her ballroom dance habit, but has cut back on learning in favor of teaching. She fills up extra time with biking, ultimate frisbee, crocheting, games, and friends.

Michael leads the commercial teams at EnergySavvy, including client solutions, marketing, regulatory affairs and sales operations. Driven by a belief that business could help address energy and environmental challenges, Michael entered the energy field in 2003 with GE Wind Energy; he brings over 10 years of sales, marketing and business development leadership to EnergySavvy. Previously, Michael was VP of Business Development at Gridco Systems, a leader in active grid infrastructure solutions. From 2005 to 2010, he held sales and marketing leadership positions at EnerNOC during its growth from $1M to $300M in revenue and from 25 to 500 employees. Outside of work, Michael enjoys hiking, sea kayaking, and spending time with family. Michael earned an undergraduate engineering degree from Dartmouth College and received an MBA from the Stanford University Graduate School of Business.

Sangeeta leads business development in the Mid-Atlantic region for EnergySavvy. Before EnergySavvy she managed large scale energy efficiency programs for utilities. She has an MBA and MS from the University of Michigan and a BS in environmental engineering from Northwestern University. Outside of EnergySavvy, Sangeeta serves as an elected Trustee to the Jersey City Board of Education where she puts into action her belief that every child deserves a great school.

Based in Denver, Colorado, Sarah is responsible for expanding EnergySavvy’s presence in the Southwest. Sarah holds a BA in international affairs and political science from the University of Colorado where she wrote her thesis on US-China energy relations. When not in the office or on a plane traveling to meetings, Sarah enjoys cooking, skiing, seeking out the best sushi spots in every city and soaking in the sun at the beach.

Scott leads EnergySavvy’s product strategy and ensures that we blend innovation and customer needs to achieve breakthrough solutions. He has authored numerous industry articles on consumer engagement with home energy efficiency and is frequently sought as a speaker on the topic. Scott’s expertise in online marketing and software product management stems from his five years at aQuantive (acquired by Microsoft), where he managed the development of aQuantive’s ad serving tools. Scott holds an MBA from MIT and a BA degree in political science and economics from Williams College.

Tim brings eight years of experience in energy engineering and evaluation, measurement and verification (EM&V), most recently at Navigant. Tim has managed multi-year EM&V studies, conducted market characterization research, developed energy codes, and provided energy code training. Earlier, he served as a commercial program manager at the Colorado Governor’s Energy Office. Tim can actually use the word “fun” and “monitoring of real-time data” in the same sentence, but also enjoys time with his wife and two young boys in northwestern Vermont skiing, playing in the woods, digging through his record collection, watching movies and waiting for summer to return. Tim has an M.S. in building systems engineering and a B.A. in environmental studies, both from the University of Colorado at Boulder.

Prior to joining EnergySavvy, he wrote a cookie compression library for Disney, built a Javascript-only video discovery site for RealNetworks, and lead front-end architectural efforts across the US and Europe for the pioneering casual games website Gamehouse.com. Todd has a BA in Japanese Linguistics from the University of Washington. In his free time, Todd enjoys taking on intimidating DIY projects, grilling outdoors, and other dad hobbies.

Zach also spent a lot of time in South America working in microfinance, teaching at an NGO and trekking through Patagonia. Outside the office, he loves to bike, camp, ski, and rock climb. Zach holds a BA in economics from Pomona College.
