Aaron is responsible for the overall strategy, leadership and growth of EnergySavvy. Under his management EnergySavvy has emerged as an industry leader in utility cloud software with a world-class team and investors.

Prior to EnergySavvy, Aaron was a Principal Group Program Manager at Microsoft, where he was a key leader on Windows XP, the Dot Net Framework, and Microsoft Cloud Services. Aaron is an inventor on ten patents, was recognized in Puget Sound Business Journal’s 40 under 40, has traveled to nearly 60 countries and loves to snowboard. He earned a MS and BS in mathematics from the University of Washington and Florida, respectively.

Adam discovered his passion for software development while earning his MS in mechanical engineering from the University of Washington with a focus in renewable energy. Formerly a mechanical engineer in the aerospace industry, Adam most recently was a full stack software developer at a web-based, user-oriented Seattle startup. In addition to coding, Adam is passionate about hiking the North Cascades with his family, classic literature, Brahms, and old manual focus camera lenses.

Bri is a software developer who arrived at EnergySavvy after completing a yearlong program at Ada Developers Academy. She has an MS in atmospheric science and a BS in geography and meteorology. Between her career in science and her career in programming she also worked as a pastry chef and baker. After writing some code for a local cupcake shop, she was inspired to do it full time, which led her to Ada and EnergySavvy. She enjoys tinkering with hardware and building things, making music, home brewing, and glitter.

Based in EnergySavvy’s Boston office, Carlyn helps utility clients deliver effective energy efficiency programs and quantify their impacts. Prior to EnergySavvy, she led impact evaluations of demand-side management programs for utilities across the nation as a consultant with Cadmus. Carlyn was first introduced to the cleantech industry as a high school summer intern installing rooftop solar with Nexamp, and has been hooked ever since. Outside the office, she enjoys making the most of New England winters with skiing, snowboarding, figure skating, and hockey. Carlyn holds a B.S. double major in Physics and Environmental Studies from Allegheny College.

Previously, Dan developed undersea oil plume modeling software during the Deepwater Horizon oil spill, constructed mesh networking applications for emergency communications, and implemented animatronics control software for Hollywood films. Dan holds a BA in philosophy from the University of California Los Angeles.

David leads the client solutions team at EnergySavvy. He honed his enthusiasm for solving big problems through technology while working at NASA on the robotics systems for the International Space Station. At Pacific Gas and Electric (PG&E) he drove performance improvements in the electric operations business including spearheading the successful upgrade of the company’s operational data management platform. After observing the unmet potential of energy efficiency in solving long-term energy needs, he joined EnergySavvy to make energy efficiency more accessible for energy consumers and dependable for utility resource planners. David has an MBA from the University of Michigan and a BS in electrical engineering from the University of Texas.

Jamie is passionate about the positive impact energy efficiency programs can have on their local communities by empowering both homeowners and contractors. John brings deep expertise in large-scale data analysis and data-product development. In a past life, he contributed to the discovery of the Higgs boson as a particle physicist at CERN. More recently, he worked at EcoFactor developing algorithms for energy-efficient, cloud-based automation of connected thermostats. He received a BA in physics from Williams College and a PhD in physics from the University of Washington. From time to time, he indulges in armchair philosophy, cooking over an open fire, and getting lost in the wilderness.

Kalpana leads EnergySavvy’s engineering team and is responsible for all development initiatives. Kalpana brings over 15 years of software development experience and holds several patents. She is passionate about startups and delivering new, innovative software products to market. She was recently director of engineering and product management at Doyenz responsible for the CloudDR platform and partner relationships. Prior to Doyenz, she cofounded and led the product strategy and development efforts for SynerG, federated data visualization and operational intelligence platform for large-scale enterprises. Kalpana also spent eight years at Attachmate as an engineer, manager and Director of Product Development managing SOA and user organized enterprise product initiatives. Kalpana loves to travel around the world and cares deeply about the welfare of animals. Kalpana holds an MS in computer science from the University of Texas.

Hailing from rural mountainous Adirondacks of New York, Maurice is a software engineer who feels right at home in the heart of the Pacific Northwest. Before joining EnergySavvy, he worked on compiler tools and methods to ensure the OS was performant while at Microsoft. In off time he enjoys adventuring into poorly-lit enclosures (both darkrooms and caverns) and venturing into the vast open spaces in between, habits he learned while getting his BS in computer science at Rensselaer Polytechnic.

Driven by a belief that business could help address energy and environmental challenges, Michael entered the energy field in 2003 with GE Wind Energy; he brings over 10 years of sales, marketing and business development leadership to EnergySavvy. Previously, Michael was VP of Business Development at Gridco Systems, a leader in active grid infrastructure solutions. From 2005 to 2010, he held sales and marketing leadership positions at EnerNOC during its growth from $1M to $300M in revenue and from 25 to 500 employees. Outside of work, Michael enjoys hiking, sea kayaking, and spending time with family. Michael earned an undergraduate engineering degree from Dartmouth College and received an MBA from the Stanford University Graduate School of Business.

Tim brings eight years of experience in energy engineering and evaluation, measurement and verification (EM&V), most recently at Navigant. Tim has managed multi-year EM&V studies, conducted market characterization research, developed energy codes, and provided energy code training. Earlier, he served as a commercial program manager at the Colorado Governor’s Energy Office. Tim can actually use the word “fun” and “monitoring of real-time data” in the same sentence, but also enjoys time with his wife and two young boys in northwestern Vermont skiing, playing in the woods, digging through his record collection, watching movies and waiting for summer to return. Tim has an M.S. in building systems engineering and a B.A. in environmental studies, both from the University of Colorado at Boulder.
