Is there a tax rebate/credit program for window replacement available for 2011-2012?
Also, do these rebates cover storm windows too?

UPDATE: As of Dec. 17, 2010 the federal energy efficiency tax credit has been extended through 2011, but significant changes have been made to the credit. Learn more about the new regulations for the extended federal income tax credit.

As of Oct 2010, the 2009-2010 tax credits for energy efficiency measures are not set to to be renewed for the 2011-2012 years, so if you're hoping to take advantage of the credit, you should do so by the end of the year.

And yes, the storm windows are eligible for the federal tax credit as long as they have a U-factor and SGHC of 0.30 or less. Only the storm windows themselves are eligible, not the cost of labor. Also, you'll want to get started on this project quickly if you want to take advantage of the credit.

Keep in mind that there is also a federal tax credit for renewable energy measures such as solar panels and geothermal heat pumps. This tax credit is 30 percent with no upper limit of the installation costs, and it is set to last through 2016.
