You may be able to apply for New Hampshire’s Cash for Appliances program. The program offers $500 rebates for oil boilers with a minimum AFUE of 85 percent and $1000 for oil boilers with a minimum AFUE of 90 percent. Meanwhile, gas tankless water heaters with an Energy Factor of 0.82 or greater also eligible for a $300 rebate through the program.

Additionally, the federal government offers an energy efficiency income tax credit to homeowners who purchase ENERGY STAR gas, oil and propane boilers with AFUE ratings of 90 or higher and/or tankless water heaters with an Energy Factor or 0.82 or higher. This tax credit is equal to 30 percent of the total project cost up to $1,500 total for the 2009 and 2010 tax years.
