Columbia Gas of Ohio offers customers the Home Performance Solutions Program, which provides a rebate designed to cover up to 70 percent of the cost of energy efficiency upgrades like adding insulation to your home. In order to qualify, you'll need to have your home audited for its energy efficiency, which costs $50 but is refundable once improvements are made.

Ohio's Energy Conservation for Ohioans (ECO-Link) Program offers 3 percent interest loans up to $25,000 for energy efficiency improvements including insulation and air sealing, which are projects that should be completed at the same time to maximize efficiency.

Finally, the federal government offers a Residential Energy Efficiency Tax Credit equal to 30 percent of the cost of the insulation for up to $1,500. This also includes weather stripping, house wrap, caulk and spray foam in a can for air sealing.
