There are several rebates to choose from and one federal tax credit. The rebates come from utilities and the state of Pennsylvania.
Pennsylvania offers the High Performance Building Program, which offers loans, grants and loan guarantees for remodeling energy efficient buildings to include renewable energy such as solar.
Additionally, Pennsylvania's Sunshine Solar Rebate Program, which provides homeowners with up to $17,500 for installing solar PV systems and $2,000 for installing solar thermal. The PV rebates are distributed at $1.75 per watt. The Public Utilities Commission of Pennsylvania offers Solar Alternative Energy Credits.
Finally, the federal government offers a renewable energy tax credit to homeowners who install solar, on their primary or secondary homes.
