Unfortunately, there are currently no rebates offered in Hampshire County, Massachusetts, for high efficiency windows.
But, you may be able to take advantage of the MassSAVE HEAT Loan program, which offers a no-interest (0 percent) loan of up to $15,000 to residential customers of Berkshire gas and Western Massachusetts Electric who want to make home energy efficiency improvements. Both secured and unsecured loans are available depending on the lender, and the terms for the loan last up to seven years. High efficiency replacement windows are eligible for the loan if you first have a free home energy assessment and then complete insulation and air sealing upgrades through Berkshire gas or Western Massachusetts Electric's efficiency programs. Additionally, windows must have a U-factor of 0.35 or less to qualify.
Both Berkshire Gas and Western Massachusetts Electric will pay residential customers 75 percent of the installed cost, up to $2,000, of certain energy efficiency measures, including insulation and air sealing.
Additionally, home envelope improvements, such as insulation and high efficiency windows, qualify for the energy efficiency tax credit. The credit is equal to 10 percent of the equipment cost of improvements up to $500, but the credit is capped at $200 for windows.
