If you are a Georgia Power customer, you may be able to take advantage of the Home Performance with ENERGY STAR program, which offers rebates for insulation upgrades. Rebates vary depending upon the insulation type with a maximum total rebate of $700. Depending on the improvement type, installation may be performed by a homeowner, a non-BPI certified contractor and/or a BPI certified contractor.

You may also qualify for the energy efficiency federal tax credit for installing insulation in your home. The credit is equal to 10 percent of the cost, excluding installation costs, up to $500. However, you can install the insulation yourself and receive the credit.
