Are there any rebates for replacing insulating and adding a moisture barrier to my home?

You may be eligible for a tax credit of up to $500. The credit, which is a residential energy efficiency credit offered by the federal government, is equal to 10 percent of the cost of your insulation up to a total of $500. However, if you’ve previously used $500 or more of this credit in the past, you will not be eligible.

If you’re interested in making other energy efficiency improvements, such as replacing outdated appliances or HVAC equipment, you can check out all of the incentives available in your area. For example, if you’re a customer of Piedmont Natural Gas, you may be eligible for up to $550 in rebates for HVAC equipment and water heaters
