Are there rebates for energy efficient HVAC systems in Charleston, SC?

Unfortunately, there are currently no rebate programs offered in Charleston, SC, for energy-efficient HVAC systems.
However, if you installed your new HVAC system by Dec. 31, 2010 you may be eligible for the 2010 Energy-Efficiency Federal Tax Credit, which is equal to 30 percent of equipment and insulation costs, up to $1,500.

If you installed the new HVAC system after Jan. 1, 2011, you may be eligible for the 2011 Energy-Efficiency Federal Tax Credit, which is equal to 10 percent of the energy-efficiency improvement costs, up to $500. Special credit limits apply to certain qualifying equipment. For example, high efficiency furnaces and boilers have a credit cap of $150, and efficient central air conditioners and air-source heat pumps have a credit cap of $300.
