Poudre Valley REA customers are eligible for water heater (minimum 30 gallons) rebates ranging from $70 to $240. The rebate amount depends on the a few factors including whether or not the water heater has a lifetime warrantee as well as whether or not if has a direct exchange ground-source or air-source heat pump.

If you’re an Xcel Energy customer, you may be eligible for up to $450 in rebates for installing an efficient electric heat pump water heater. A program-approved contractor must install the water heater in order for you to be eligible for the rebate. If you’re interested in performing more of a whole-home energy efficiency retrofit, Xcel offers many other incentives, including rebates for insulation, dishwashers, clothes washers and more.

Finally, the federal government offers the 2011 federal energy efficiency tax credit, which is equal to 10 percent of the water heater cost up to $300. Your water heater must meet the efficiency standards of each of the programs in order to qualify for those rebates.
