You may be eligible for the a federal efficiency tax credit if your windows are ENERGY STAR rated with a U factor and SHGC of 0.3 or less. The credit is equal to 30 percent of the cost of your new windows for up to $1,500 max.
To the best of EnergySavvy’s knowledge, there aren’t any rebates available for windows in the state of New York. One possible reason for this is many energy efficiency rebates are usually aimed at more cost-effective upgrades such as insulation and air sealing. These measures tend to have a faster return on the initial investment through saving on utility bills.
