There are a few different rebates for windows in the L.A. area. Burbank Water & Power offers a rebate on low-E windows of $2 per square foot if the windows are purchased within the city of Burbank. Los Angeles Department of Water and Power also offers a rebate on double pane low-E windows at $1 per square foot through their Residential Energy EFficiency Rebate Program.

If you’re looking for a way to finance your windows, Southern California Gas Company offers loans ranging from $2,500 to $20,000 for making energy efficiency upgrades including windows, insulation, water heaters, refrigerators, air conditioners and more. You should also take a look at the federal Residential Energy Efficiency Tax Credit to help cover up to 30 percent of the cost of the windows.

One thing to keep in mind about windows is that they may not be the best way to go if you’re trying to save energy and money on your utility bills. There are often several other more cost-effective measures you can take that are also eligible for rebates such as insulating and air sealing your home.
