Florida Power and Light offers rebates of up to $1,930 for replacing your existing air conditioner with a high efficiency air conditioning system. The rebate amount varies depending on your home square footage, the SEER rating of your current AC and the SEER rating of your new air conditioner.

Additionally, the federal government offers an energy efficiency tax credit equal to 10 percent of the cost of your new efficient air conditioner. The maximum tax credit for air conditioners is $300, and the maximum total credit is $500. If you've taken advantage of at least $500 of this credit in the past, you will not be eligible.
