The SMART Energy Rebate Program, which is administered by the City of Palo Alto Utilities (CPAU), offers rebates on energy-efficient appliances, including dishwashers. Rebates levels vary depending on the efficiency of your dishwasher. The rebate is equal to $50 if your dishwasher has an Energy Factor equal to 0.75 or greater and a water factor of 4.25 gallons per cycle or less. If your dishwasher has an Energy Factor between 0.72 and 0.75 and a water factor between 4.25 and 5.0 gallons per cycle or less, you could receive a $30 rebate.
The Pacific Gas and Electric Company offers a high efficiency dishwasher rebate of up to $50 depending on the efficiency of your dishwasher. The rebate is equal to $30 if the dishwasher's electricity usage is between 324 kilowatts per year or less and water usage is between 5.0 and 5.8 gallons per cycle. If the dishwasher's electricity usage is 307 kilowatts per year or less and water usage is 5.0 gallons per cycle or less, the rebate is equal to $50.
