The Connecticut Energy Efficiency Fund offers energy efficiency rebates to customers of the Connecticut Light and Power Company, the United Illuminating Company, Connecticut Natural Gas, Southern Connecticut Gas and Yankeegas. To be eligible the rebates offered by the Home Energy Solutions program, you must first have a $75 energy assessment by a contractor authorized by your utility provider. The contractor will then make immediate improvements, such as caulking, sealing air leaks and installing low-flow showerheads and energy efficient light bulbs. Rebates are offered for appliances, HVAC systems and insulation upgrades. For more specific information on rebate amounts and eligibility, please contact the Home Energy Solutions program at 1-877-947-3873.

Also, you can use this free online energy assessment tool to see what an energy assessment may find in your home.

Additionally, if you owe money on your taxes you may be eligible for the energy efficiency tax credit. Insulation upgrades qualify for a tax credit equal to 10 percent of the equipment cost up to $500.
