There are many potential reasons for why some rooms are hotter than others in your Las Vegas home.
Usually, the amount of air conditioning delivered to that one particularly room is incorrect, and that results in a hot room. The thermostat doesn't know that the room is hot since the thermostat is located in an area that gets lots of air conditioning.
One other possibility is that there are probably issues with air leaks and insulation in your home's exterior shell.
If you'd like to correct this issue, contact an energy professional who can analyze your home.
