NV Energy offers many different energy efficiency rebate programs that cover all aspects of your home’s energy consumption. From refrigerator recycling to rebates for installing a new, energy efficient air conditioner, NV Energy is ready to help homeowners conserve energy and lower their costs.
Old refrigerators can use as much as four times the electricity of new ones. Recycling an old refrigerator can save you up to $140 a year on utility bills. In addition NV Energy offers homeowners $50 to haul away their old refrigerators. They need to be in working order and at least 10 cubic feet in size with a limit of 2 per household. You can schedule a pickup right on the NV Energy website.
The Cool Share Program offers free programmable thermostats for NV Energy customers. Then, on peak energy demand days, NV Energy tells your thermostat to send your air conditioner into conservation mode. Though the temperature in your home may rise slightly, most Cool Share customers never even notice a difference.
NV Energy’s CheckMe! Place AC Program in southern Nevada offers up to $1,000 for taking the following qualified measures:
- Replacing an inefficient air conditioner or heat pump with a high efficiency unit
