I just had a high efficiency gas furnace installed on May 4, 2010. How do I apply for New Mexico's energy-efficient appliance rebate?

To receive New Mexico’s Residential Energy Efficiency Appliance Rebate for your new gas furnace, you’ll need to apply online. You have until November 30, 2010 to apply; however, funds will be distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis.

After filling out the online application, you’ll need to print it off and sign it so that you can send it in with your sales receipt or invoice (make a copy of this for your records). You’ll also need to send in a copy of a recent LP gas bill or natural gas utility bill.

Send your information to:

You may also want to look into the federal Residential Energy Efficiency Tax Credit, which provides a tax credit equal to 30 percent (up to $1,500) of the cost of buying and installing energy-efficient heating equipment.
