As of May 20, 2010, the Heat Loan Program is still available to eligible residents. In order to get started, you’ll need to have an energy audit performed in your home to find out if you’re eligible for the loan. If you’d like to make an appointment for an energy audit, we can connect you with a MassSave auditor in your area.
Not only will an audit help qualify you for the heat loan program, but it will also help you become eligible for other MassSave programs, such as the Weatherization Incentive. This program will cover up to $2,000 or 75 percent of the cost of measures like adding insulation and air sealing.
If you are eligible for the Heat Loan Program, you may also be eligible for a $25 programmable thermostat rebate and a rebate equal to a few hundred dollars for purchasing a high-efficiency heating system and/or water heater. Your energy auditor will be able to answer any additional questions about the program.
