The renewable energy sales tax exemption seems to include solar, geothermal and ice storage cooling systems only. However, for more information about hydropower sales tax, contact Connecticut’s Department of Revenue at (860) 297-5962.

The good news is hydroelectric systems do qualify for Connecticut's Property Tax Exemption for Renewable Energy Systems! This means, if you install a hydroelectric system on your property, its added value won't cause an increase in your property taxes.
