There are quite a few different energy efficiency incentives you can use to help finance your energy efficient furnace. Black Hills Energy offers rebates on high efficiency furnaces that range from $325 to $400 depending on the level of efficiency. They also offer rebates on air sealing and insulating ducts.
As of July 15, 2010, Colorado is still offering their Cash for Appliances program, which provides rebates of $500 for gas furnaces with an AFUE rating of 92 percent or higher. There is a limited amount of funding available for this program, and it is set to end when funds run out.
Source Gas offers $300 furnace rebates to customers who replace their existing furnace with a high efficiency version through the Excess is Out Program.
Finally, the federal government offers tax credits equal to 30 percent up to $1,500 of the cost of energy efficiency measures including furnaces, as well as insulation, air sealing, duct sealing, water heaters and more. All of this information and more can be found on our Tax Credits and Rebates page.
