Assuming your windows, doors and heater, as well as kitchen appliances, meet the energy-efficiency standards for all the rebates and tax credits, there are a few different options out there for you.
If you're a PECO Natural Gas customer, they offer a $300 rebates for heaters, but you need to apply before Feb. 15, 2010. Click here for the application. For more information about your heater’s eligibility, visit the PECO rebate website.
Also, your heater, along with your windows, doors and kitchen appliances, may be eligible for a federal tax credit that covers 30 percent of the cost of several energy-efficient appliances and home improvements. This tax credit is capped $1,500. Check out this EnergySavvy federal incentive page. It will tell you which of your appliances are eligible and how to claim your credit. Make sure to claim your 2009 purchases with your 2009 tax return.
