Unfortunately, you bought your water heater too early to qualify for Ohio’s Residential Energy-Efficient Appliance Rebate because appliances for that program needed to be purchased on March 26 or after.
However, you may still qualify for the federal Residential Energy Efficiency Tax Credit. In order to qualify, your water heater must have an Energy Factor of 0.82 or higher or have a thermal efficiency of at least 90 percent. If you do qualify, you’ll receive a tax credit equal to 30 percent of the cost of equipment and labor for up to $1,500.
