Are there energy efficient window rebates for National Grid electric customers in the Syracuse, NY area?

Homeowner in Mexico, NY (Posted on Jan. 11, 2011)

National Grid offers a variety of rebates for its gas customers in upstate New York. Qualifying measures include water heaters, furnaces, boilers, programmable thermostats, caulking/weather-stripping, duct/air sealing, insulation and windows. However, these rebates are not offered to electric-only customers.

As an electric customer, you may be able to take advantage of the Green Jobs/Green New York and Home Performance with ENERGY STAR program, which offers a combination of a free energy audit, a 10 to 50 percent rebate (depending on income) on eligible improvements, and low-interest loans. The incentives for windows that meet energy efficiency program specifications are actually better than the National Grid rebates in almost all cases. You must use a participating BPI-Accredited Contractor, like GreenHomes America. Please don’t hesitate to contact us for more information about how you can access this program and take advantage of the incentives.

Yes, there is a $10 per window, up to 50 windows, rebate available from National Grid for windows with a U-factor of .35 or less.
