Through the Residential Energy Efficiency Rebate, Sulphur Springs Valley EC offers free in-home energy audits. There are two audits to choose from. The first is a walk-through audit, where an auditor will make verbal recommendations based on what he observes.

The second is a more comprehensive audit that will include checking window types and sizes, door types and sizes, R-value of the attic insulation and square footage. It will also check the insulation and square footage in your walls, as well as the efficiency of your HVAC system. This audit will give you a better idea of what measures will be most cost effective in terms of upgrading your home’s energy efficiency. Our online energy audit tool can give you an idea of what an energy audit may find in your home.

If you’re not a Sulphur Springs Valley Electric Cooperative customer, you can still have your home audited. Non-utility audits cost around $400 in the Tucson area, but by following through the upgrades an auditor recommends can usually lower a homeowner’s energy bills by 30 percent.
