There are quite a few incentives available for ENERGY STAR air conditioners in the Los Angeles area. Burbank Water & Power offers up to $140/ton for central air conditioners. The rebate amount varies by Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio (SEER) ratings and whether or not the AC was purchased in Burbank.

Glendale Water & Power offers AC tune-ups and duct testing, as well as rebates of up to $60 on room air conditioners and up to $125/ton for central air conditioner rebates. The rebates are lower if you purchase the equipment outside of Glendale.

Pasadena Water and Power offers up to $50 for purchasing an ENERGY STAR room AC with an additional $15 incentive available for Green Power customers. AC’s must be purchased from a Pasadena retailer to receive the full rebate.

Southern California Edison customers are eligible for $50 rebates on ENERGY STAR room air conditioners. They can also get rebates of up to $600 for buying an evaporative cooler!

Southern California Gas Company offers unsecured loans (no equity needed) ranging from $2,500 to $20,000. This can help you cover the upfront costs of an energy-efficient AC that will save you a lot of money on your utilities.
