The state of California does NOT offer a tax credit for a new furnace system rated at 96.7 percent AFUE. However, the federal government, through the Department of Energy does offer a tax credit of 30 percent of the cost or up to $1,500.
PG&E also offers a rebate of up to $150 to $300.
