There aren't any federal tax credits available for dishwashers at this time, and unfortunately, Illinois' Residential Energy-Efficient Appliance Rebate Program ended on April 25, 2010. However, their is a federal tax credit available until the end of 2010 that covers a lot of other energy efficiency measures.

Appliances and measures eligible for the Federal Residential Energy Efficiency Tax Credit include heat pumps, furnaces, air conditioners, insulation, water heaters, windows and skylights, doors and roofs. If you decide to take on any other replacement or upgrade projects, you'll be eligible for the federal tax credit for up to $1,500 or 30 percent of the cost.
